Where these terms apply
This page covers use of the Automology Labs website and the early conversations around working together. It does not set the terms for a specific project.
Every engagement is set out in writing. The proposal or agreement for that project explains the work, deliverables, timeline, fees, responsibilities and how the result will be reviewed. If it differs from this page, the project agreement applies.
Starting work together
We first learn how the work gets done today and what needs to improve. Then we agree on an approach, whether that means advice, a process change, automation, AI, software or connecting existing systems. Sometimes a simpler process fix is the right answer.
We confirm the scope and working arrangements in writing before starting. If a request falls outside that scope, we will discuss the effect on time and cost and agree the change before doing the additional work.
What we each bring
A project moves well when the right information and decisions are available. The project agreement will set out any specific responsibilities. In general, we ask clients to:
- Share accurate information about the process and provide access they are authorised to give.
- Make the right people available to answer questions, review work and make decisions.
- Review work and raise concerns within the agreed timeframe.
- Make sure they have permission to share any data or materials provided to us.
Fees, timing and changes
The proposal or project agreement sets out the fees, payment dates, milestones and assumptions. If the work or priorities change, we will talk through the effect on cost and timing and confirm any change in writing before moving ahead.
The plan also depends on agreed access, information, feedback and decisions arriving on time. If something changes, we will discuss a practical update to the schedule.
Your materials and our work
Your information and the materials you provide remain yours. The project agreement explains who owns the work created for the project and how it may be used, including any software, documentation or reusable components.
Sharing materials for a project does not transfer ownership. Each side may use the other’s materials only as agreed for that work.
Keeping information confidential
We use information shared with us to consider, deliver or support the agreed work. Only people who need it for that work should have access. We expect both sides to take the same care with information that is marked confidential or is clearly private.
If a project needs particular confidentiality or security measures, we will agree them before that work begins.
Third-party tools
Some solutions use cloud platforms, APIs or other products we do not operate. We will identify important dependencies as we design the work. Those providers set their own terms, privacy practices and service availability.
What to expect from results
We work toward the results agreed at the start. Results also depend on things like data quality, how a new process is adopted and the decisions people make day to day. Any specific guarantee or service level must appear in the project agreement.
The website describes our work in general terms. It is not a project commitment or advice for a specific business situation.
